Job Summary:

Your primary responsibility will be to provide top-notch service by setting up and clearing tables, stocking service stations, and assisting food servers with table service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Table Setup and Clearing: Quickly clear dirty tables, settings, and prepare tables for resetting. Consistently reset all service ware as prescribed.
  • Station Maintenance: Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment, including silverware, linen, and condiments.
  • Guest Service: Serve guests with beverages, breads, and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
  • Tableware Transportation: Transport all dirty tableware from the dining room to the dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
  • Attendance and Scheduling: Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Flexibility: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees will be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Performance of Essential Functions: In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the club.
  • General Cleaning Tasks: Perform general cleaning tasks using standard Club cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.
  • Napkin Folding: Fold napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
  • Special Requests: Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills or special requests, to ensure total guest satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma required.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and fully understand job assignments. Other languages beneficial.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates, such as a Washington Health Card or Oregon Liquor Service Permit. CPR Certification and/or First Aid training preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, reach, grab, and lift objects over shoulder height, squat, and kneel down on a regular basis. Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. and work in the sun for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

  • Restaurant Environment: Works in an outside restaurant, occasionally working inside when weather conditions call for it.
  • Noise Level: Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Team Player: Be a team player and provide lateral service.
  • Club Policies: Follow Ocean Reef Club Associate Handbook and Quality Job Standards.
  • Weather Conditions: Be able to endure outside weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and high winds.
  • Availability: Be willing and able to work when needed, including weekends and holidays.
