The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is seeking a skilled Custodian I to join our team. As a Custodian I, you will be responsible for performing basic and routine custodial, grounds maintenance, and general laborer work.
Key Responsibilities- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean restrooms, basins, stools, urinals, and other sanitary facilities daily.
- Supply Management: Stock dispensers with paper towel, tissue, and other paper products.
- Grounds Maintenance: Maintain outside areas by sweeping, hosing off walkways, and picking up litter.
- Floor Care: Vacuum and clean carpets as needed, sweep and mop daily, strip off old wax, apply new wax, and polish floors with an electric buffer.
- Waste Management: Empty ashtrays and trash receptacles daily.
- Dusting and Polishing: Dust office desks, chairs, and reception area, clean walls, windows, doors, and shelves.
- Equipment Operation: May assist in moving furniture and other equipment.
- Supply Procurement: Order supplies and equipment as authorized.
- Security: Ensure buildings are secure before leaving.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of applicable tools and equipment, basic custodial practices, safe work practices, HIPAA regulations, and Yaqui culture, customs, resources, and traditions.
- Skills and Abilities: Exercise care in using cleaning materials, establish and maintain effective working relationships, communicate effectively, follow verbal and written instructions, operate powered equipment, work outdoors under varying weather conditions, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Custodian I: High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred; no specific experience is required.
- Custodian II: High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred, plus one year of experience as a custodian with no written warnings or disciplinary actions in the prior twelve months, successful completion of Blood Borne Pathogens and Universal Precautions Training, HIPAA Certification Training within the last twelve months, ability to operate floor cleaning equipment safely, and knowledge of cleaning protocols to meet Health Facility standards.
- Driver's License: A valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
- Non-Traditional Hours: This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends.
- Clearance Card: Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain it within ninety days of hire.
The Pascua Yaqui Tribe offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 22 days of Paid Time Off, 15 paid Holidays per year, a 401(k) Plan with a generous match, and a profit-sharing plan after one year of employment. Sworn police and fire employees are eligible to make Pre-Tax and After-Tax contributions to the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement Systems.
