About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Expense Analyst to join our Expense Transformation & Efficiency Initiatives Organization at MassMutual. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate and reliable expense forecasts, analyzing expense trends, and driving expense efficiencies across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain quarterly and annual expense forecasts, including unit cost development, fixed vs. variable expense analysis, and capital budgeting.
  • Analyze STAT and GAAP expense results for all legal entities, profit centers, and cost centers, and provide insights to senior business leaders.
  • Provide analysis and reporting on ABC categories, peer and industry benchmarking, and actual expenses for MassMutual's distribution and product channels.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of Anaplan expense data to the data lake and FinX Dashboards.
  • Enhance overall expense forecast/plan governance, provide stewardship to address cross-functional governance issues, and influence the design of future forecast processes.
  • Provide Anaplan expense training and support to ensure the Company's self-service model is embraced, and promote and develop self-serve analysis, detailed reporting, and utilization metrics.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of work experience with a track record of increasing responsibility within the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, actuarial science, economics, finance, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years developing quarterly and annual expense forecasts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, MBA, FSA, CFA, and/or FCIA.
  • GAAP and STAT technical accounting experience.
  • Prior experience performing activity-based costing, predictive, driver-based forecasting techniques, scenario modeling, and expense attribution.
