We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at the University of Washington Medical Center - Northwest. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic recreational services to patients in our behavioral health units.
About the PositionThis is a part-time position, working 80% FTE, 32 hours per week, Tuesday-Friday (8 hours per day) with rotating Sundays every 5th weekend. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in therapeutic recreation and experience working with patients with mental health conditions.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and plan comprehensive treatment programs to meet the needs of patients
- Communicate the role of the Recreation Therapist on the treatment team
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to provide high-quality patient care
- Participate in quality improvement programs to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
- Graduation from an accredited Therapeutic Recreation Program and 18 months of professional therapeutic recreation experience
- Current CTRS Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
- Registered with the Washington State Department of Health as a Recreation Therapist
