Mental Health Therapist 2 Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist 2 to join our team at Marion County. As a Mental Health Therapist 2, you will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment services to individuals and families, including groups, crisis assessment and intervention services, and related duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mental health assessments and treatment services to individuals and families, including groups.
  • Conduct crisis assessments and interventions as needed.
  • Develop and implement individual service plans in collaboration with the treatment team and other community providers.
  • Provide case management and outreach services to clients and families.
  • Assist clients and families in accessing community supports and resources.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individual service plans.
  • Provide consultation, training, and orientation to team members, student interns, and other professionals on mental health and co-occurring disorders treatment.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a behavioral science field.
  • At least one year of full-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Oregon.
  • Certification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with youth and families in a mental health setting.
  • Knowledge of community mental health concepts and chemical dependency case management and treatment services.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with employees, individuals, and families, and other agencies and the public.
