JOB SUMMARY
As a Fire Alarm Systems Superintendent, you will oversee the installation and maintenance of fire alarm and specialized hazard suppression systems.
Your role will be pivotal in leading the job site operations, ensuring quality workmanship and exceptional customer service, which are hallmarks of ORR Protection Systems.
This position requires residency in the surrounding area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead operations at client locations, providing guidance and direction to ORR technicians and subcontractors.
2. Collaborate with the Project Manager and Installation Coordinator to keep clients updated on project progress.
3. Complete all necessary compliance and documentation paperwork.
4. Respond to emergency service requests and take appropriate measures.
5. Conduct thorough troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment replacements.
6. Provide training to clients on the functionality of fire systems.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of five years of experience in the service and/or installation of fire alarm or specialized hazard suppression systems is required. Proficiency in reading blueprints is necessary. Experience in fire alarm programming is essential. An associate degree in electronics or a related field is preferred. NICET (Fire Alarm / Special Hazard) certification is also preferred.
EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING MANUFACTURERS:
Kidde, Fenwal, Notifier, Fike, FCI is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in intelligent fire control panel programming software.
- Familiarity with Google Suite or Microsoft Office and standard internet usage.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to lead a team effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a remote position that involves traveling from home to various job sites for installations, services, or repairs. A company vehicle, tools, technology, and equipment will be provided. The role may require occasional on-call duties and/or overtime for unscheduled service needs. Job responsibilities include the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and navigate tight or awkward spaces. Overnight travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
