Fire Alarm/Sprinkler Technician Job Summary

GPAC is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm/Sprinkler Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm/Sprinkler Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and/or sprinkler systems in commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Service Calls: Perform routine and emergency service calls for system troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Inspections and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire protection systems to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Documentation: Document all service activities, including inspections, testing, and repairs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers and clients to schedule and perform work efficiently.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in fire protection systems preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a fire alarm/sprinkler technician.
  • Skills: Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
  • Certifications: Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, as well as local building codes.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Other: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems and/or Water-Based Systems Layout is a plus.
