Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Worker Intern to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a key member of our Substance Abuse Services department, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and address complex psychosocial and economic co-morbidities in patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide education and consultation on resources, discharge planning, and crisis interventions to patients and families.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of local community services, particularly those available to patients with limited or non-existent payment resources.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • Ability to interview, assess, organize, and problem-solve.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Familiarity with PC and ability to analyze data.
  • Exposure and/or experience in pre-acute and post-acute care, as well as community resources.
