The Medical Social Worker LCSW at North Mississippi Health Services plays a pivotal role in coordinating assessment of psychosocial factors, providing direct case work, evaluating patient/family response to treatment, and communicating with patients, staff, and physicians. This position requires strong human relations skills and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate clinical assessments of psychosocial factors, mental and emotional health and stability, direct case work, and community networking.
- Evaluate psychosocial issues and patient/family response to treatment.
- Evaluate support systems and the strengths and weaknesses of the patient/caregiver environment.
- Communicate goal progression and plan of care to patients, staff, and physicians.
- Document all patient care activities in a timely manner.
- Bill and collect for services rendered in certain care settings where they work as independent providers.
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Social Work Education.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State based on facility location.
- Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and major medical diagnoses.
- Ability to identify the appropriate needs and care of patients served in Home Health and Hospice (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics).
