Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Network Engineer Specialist to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team at the University of Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and manage large-scale wireless networks, ensuring seamless connectivity and high-performance services for our academic community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement wireless network infrastructure, including WAPs, controllers, and routing domains
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including solution designs, implementation plans, and technical specifications
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders and internal teams on network Wireless Access best practices, industry standards, and emerging trends
  • Collaborate with the wireless team for operations support and participate in on-call support rotations
Requirements
  • 7 years of experience in wireless network architecture and management
  • Expert-level experience with high-density WiFi solutions, 802.1x authentication, and security
  • Experience with Aruba mobility controllers, wireless access points, and Clearpass RADIUS infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, problem, change, and configuration management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • 5+ years of direct experience with wireless network architecture and management
  • Experience with Aruba Switch management, Aruba Central, NAC, and device certificates
