About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Jobot. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems for buildings in the K-12, higher education, and government space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and design mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and temperature control systems for K-12, higher education, and government buildings.
  • Create detailed 3D designs for complex projects using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and goals.
  • Conduct regular system calculations and analyses to ensure designs meet all necessary safety and performance standards.
  • Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
  • Ensure all designed systems meet legal and quality assurance requirements.
  • Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced designers.
  • Coordinate with other team members to identify and resolve potential design conflicts in early stages.
  • Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in building systems design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
  • Experience in designing HVAC, plumbing, temperature control systems, and other MEP systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Familiarity with the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
