Position Overview:

This role involves taking charge of the design and implementation of HVAC and plumbing systems specifically tailored for healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously while managing projects and guiding design teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee mechanical projects and mentor design personnel.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control for engineering projects.
  • Draft and develop comprehensive project specifications.
  • Assess various HVAC and plumbing design alternatives, including air distribution, hydronic systems, plumbing, and medical gas installations.
  • Coordinate the selection and scheduling of essential HVAC and plumbing equipment.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive design integration.
  • Provide expert guidance to mechanical designers, assisting with system layout and sizing.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, partners, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Facilitate communication among team members, project managers, and external vendors to gather necessary design information.
  • Support data collection and field verification efforts.
  • Engage in construction administration, including site visits to monitor the quality and progress of installed mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
  • 6-15+ years of experience in designing HVAC and plumbing systems for various building types.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes and energy regulations.
  • Proficiency in current Autodesk software, including Revit and AutoCAD.
