Job Summary:

Senior Tech Specialist, NetworkPrimary SkillsCiena 6500, Optical Network Deployment, Optical Network Infrastructure, DWDM ROADM, L0/1 Channel Build, Provisioning, Migration, Network and Circuit Design, and Project Management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and communicates optical network standards.
  2. Performs optical network configuration, testing, monitoring, operations, and network management.
  3. Maintains network documentation, including long-haul optical network maps, circuit drawings, and traffic flow diagrams.
  4. Plans, schedules, and creates change control records and performs configuration of network elements in a large-scale networking environment.
  5. Escalates problems to internal Network Engineering and external vendors as required.

Requirements:

  • Familiar with optical principles of fiber optic communication systems.
  • Senior experience with Photonics and Broadband networks.
  • Understand optical network troubleshooting at Layer 1 and Layer 2.
  • Extensive hands-on experience on Ciena products, specifically Ciena 6500 and MCP.
