Job Title: Lead Mammography Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mammography Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for leading a team of mammography technologists and ensuring the highest quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The Lead Mammography Technologist will be responsible for coordinating the flow of work, delegating tasks, and overseeing the performance of mammography technologists. You will also be responsible for monitoring the quality and quantity of work, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and recommending personnel actions as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of mammography technologists and ensure the highest quality patient care
  • Coordinate the flow of work and delegate tasks as needed
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of work and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Recommend personnel actions as needed, including performance appraisals, hiring decisions, and progressive disciplines
  • Assist with monitoring performance improvement plans and implement external and internal audit recommendations
Requirements:
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Mammography (M)
  • Two or more years of progressively more responsible mammography technologist work experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse atmosphere and communicate effectively with patients and hospital personnel
  • Technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers
