Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Lead to join our team at C&W Services. As a key member of our operations maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading service technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying material handling control systems equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Service Technicians: Direct and supervise a team of service technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying material handling control systems equipment.
  • Design Solutions: Develop and implement solutions for complex problems and manage projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Train and Mentor: Provide training and mentorship to service technicians and contract technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Troubleshoot and Modify Software: Troubleshoot and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, Allen Bradley Controllogix and Compactlogix PLC platform utilizing RSLogix 5000 software package.
  • Act as First-Level Escalation Support: Provide first-level escalation support for control system technician teams and escalate downtime situations to vendors or headquarters as needed.
  • Apply Subject Matter Expertise: Apply subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize building utilization of systems.
  • Monitor MHE Metrics: Monitor MHE metrics and partner with controls technicians and mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems that create performance deficiencies.
  • Partner with Facility Operations Leadership: Partner with facility operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations.
  • Communicate Technical Issues: Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations, and the maintenance team.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree with a focus in electronic technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience with motor controls, programming HMI components, PLC programs, robotics system components, and SCADA systems.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and project management skills, ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings, and experience with ASRS systems and CMMS.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in the electrical field, control systems development, troubleshooting, and programming, and experience supporting advanced automation controls systems maintenance and development.
  • Skills: Leadership and project management experience, experience with ASRS systems and CMMS, and ability to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to Reach Overhead: Ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, and frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
  • Ability to Perform Tasks Wearing PPE: Ability to perform tasks wearing appropriate or required PPE, which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
  • Ability to Move Between Departments: Ability to move between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work, averaging 6 to 12 miles per day.
