The MIPS Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the various elements of the MIPS program, focusing on performance assessment, data reporting, and quality enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate closely with departmental leaders and key program stakeholders.
  2. Facilitate the ongoing achievement of successful reporting outcomes while providing expertise related to the CMS MIPS Quality Payment Program.
  3. Stay informed about the CMS Quality Payment Program (QPP), including the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
  4. Monitor eligibility criteria for providers.
  5. Identify the most effective measures for each practice on an annual basis.
  6. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with each measure.
  7. Review provider documentation and generate feedback reports for selected quality measures.
  8. Educate providers on the MIPS/QPP program and best practice recommendations to maximize Medicare reimbursement.
  9. Document gap analyses and review areas needing improvement.
  10. Assist in creating MIPS templates.
  11. Conduct quarterly and year-to-date scoring evaluations and presentations.
  12. Facilitate retrospective reviews, coding, and provider feedback in partnership with RCM leadership.
  13. File small practice exceptions through the QPP portal.
  14. Report Improvement Activities annually via the QPP portal.
  15. Conduct targeted reviews as necessary.
  16. Process exceptions applications as required.
  17. Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in MIPS documentation and reporting.
  3. Familiarity with the QPP portal and ability to navigate required processes.
  4. Experience with NRDR is a plus.
  5. Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  7. Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  8. Some travel may be required.
