Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and registered nurses in the operating room setting, providing technical support and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain aseptic environments, adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring the integrity of sterile packaging.
  • Verify exposure to sterilization and integrity of sterile packaging, opening supplies aseptically and establishing a sterile field for each surgical procedure.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the efficient operation of the operating room, prioritizing tasks and adapting to changing circumstances as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge of trends in the operating room, including new products, procedures, and physician techniques.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited school for Surgical Technology required.
  • Surgical tech experience in obstetrics preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Surgical Technology required if greater than one (1) year from graduation.
  • Certification within one (1) year of hire date for new graduates.
