Job Summary
The Director of Capital Projects will oversee and manage all project management services related to capital projects and regulatory compliance programs at Johns Hopkins Medicine. This includes managing project teams, negotiating with clients and consultants, and making decisions that impact the organization's project goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project management teams to deliver capital projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Negotiate with clients, consultants, and project team members to resolve critical and controversial issues.
- Make strategic decisions that align with the organization's project goals and objectives.
- Oversee a team of project executives, senior project managers, and project managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent progressive experience in the design/management of major capital projects.
- A minimum of eighteen (18) years' progressive experience in the design/management of large, highly complex healthcare/academic medical center projects.
- Experience requirements may be flexible if a candidate holds a master's degree and/or certifications or licenses such as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), LEED AP, Registered Architect (RA), Professional Engineer (P.E.), or other relevant professional certification or license.
