Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant I + Clerical to join our team at the UNC Medical Center's Burn Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to burn victims of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric.

Responsibilities
  • Assist professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transporting patients and equipment, and setting up and maintaining patient rooms.
  • Perform a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenance tasks, including organizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors, and maintaining medical records.
  • Provide clinical support assistance, including cleaning the work area, maintaining office equipment, and troubleshooting common software and hardware problems.
  • Measure and record vital signs, patient height and weight, and provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in the plan of care.
  • Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
  • One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience
