Mobile Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Phlebotomist to join our team at TridentCare. As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for visiting nursing home patients to collect blood samples. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by the company dispatcher.
- Unload phlebotomy supplies and take them to the patient's bedside to collect samples ordered by a physician.
- Accurately identify patients before collecting specimens.
- Accurately collect, label, process, and deliver specimens obtained from patients.
- Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to the vehicle for prompt delivery.
- Regularly communicate with the dispatcher to report status and location.
- Maintain strict adherence to Universal Precautions in controlling blood-borne pathogens and infectious disease exposures.
- Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational requirements.
Requirements:
- Practices excellent communication and interaction skills specific to the population served, including the pediatric and geriatric communities.
- Treats customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledging residents' rights and patients' right to refuse.
- Must have a current, valid State phlebotomy license, if applicable.
- Must have a current, valid State Driver's license; car insurance; good driving record; possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements.
- Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques.
- Knowledge of laboratory operations.
- Maintains sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination.
