Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience is preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in central supply management is preferred
  • Experience in a long-term care environment for a minimum of 2 years is preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, organize, and manage the medical records department
  • Ensure the protection of resident health information and uphold confidentiality standards

Specific Tasks Include:

  • Retrieving and delivering patient records
  • Filing information into patient charts
  • Collecting, assembling, verifying, and filing patient charts
  • Correcting incomplete records and ensuring proper completion prior to filing
  • Extracting information for insurance providers and other entities
  • Transporting medical records as needed
  • Responding to inquiries regarding medical records and preparing necessary correspondence
  • Maintaining and organizing both active and inactive records
  • Completing relevant sections of death certificates
  • Keeping logs and managing request forms
