About the Position

The State of Kansas is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Human Services Specialist. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in processing LIEAP applications and determining eligibility for benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Process LIEAP applications and determine eligibility for benefits
  • Utilize the KEES eligibility computer system to authorize benefits
  • Answer the statewide LIEAP 800 phone number and provide guidance to callers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience interviewing, investigating, and providing technical assistance
  • Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • DCF and/or LIEAP experience
  • Experience working with the public
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Proficient in accurate data entry

Security Clearance

A background check is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment and maintained throughout employment.

Compensation

$19.16 hourly
