Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Kansas Department for Children and Families is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Human Services Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Collecting and analyzing information to determine eligibility and monitor changes in circumstances of households to determine and affect payment benefits
  • Investigating questionable situations and notifying appropriate departments and agencies of discrepancies identified
  • Referencing customers to appropriate services

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Two years of experience interviewing, investigating, compiling information, documenting decisions, interpreting guidelines, and/or providing technical assistance relevant to the agency's programs
  • Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency

Security Clearance Requirements

A background check, including fingerprinting and FBI check, is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment and maintained throughout employment.
