Job Summary

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, applying knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments/interventions. You will provide consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs unique to the patient.

Responsibilities

Operate various equipment, including computer automated vital sign machines, O2 saturation glucose meters, intercom telephones, patient care equipment, scales, and lifts. Perform basic EKG form monitoring and operation of the machine, recognizing life-threatening dysrhythmias and providing subsequent care if required. Perform venipuncture, discontinuing INT's, and perform 12 lead EKG based on area/location. Develop good telephone and communication skills, providing excellent customer service and adapting to changes in healthcare technology. May enter secured supply rooms to deliver or access supplies and equipment necessary to carry out core functions of the job.

Qualifications

PCT I: Students ages 16 and 17 can be employed with parental consent. It is preferred that they are also part of a High School Health Career Program. High School graduate or equivalent. BLS within 30 days of hire.

PCT II: Students ages 16 and 17 can be employed with parental consent. It is preferred that they are also part of a High School Health Career Program. Certified Nursing Assistant program graduate with current TN license. Certified Patient Care Technician or certified Medical Assistant with active certification. BLS within 30 days of hire.
