Job Overview

At the City of North Little Rock, AR, we are seeking an experienced Electric Distribution Line Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting construction crews with the maintenance, repair, and construction of electric distribution lines and equipment.



Job Summary

As an Electric Distribution Line Assistant, you will perform various tasks, including assisting Linemen on the pole, handling construction materials, and assisting with installations. You will work closely with our construction team to ensure the safe and efficient execution of projects.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Linemen on the pole, anticipating and providing tools and/or materials, and following instructions
  • Handle construction materials, loading and unloading them at construction sites
  • Assist with pole erector, loading, and unloading poles
  • Perform tasks such as tamping poles after they have been set in place, assisting with installation of anchors and guys, and preparing and installing pole fixtures
  • Assist with installations, including the refusing of transformer cutout and grounding, and preparing primary jumpers and secondary connections of transformers
  • Clean and cut right-of-way for distribution lines when necessary


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent, with no felony convictions. Six months of related experience in construction or a related field is preferred, but not required. You must be able to climb and acquire a CDL within six months of hire.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and efficiency. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.



Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $40,870 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and 52 weeks per year.
