Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Resident Behavioral Health Aide to join our team at Medix. As a key member of our recuperative care team, you will provide essential behavioral and psychiatric care to patients, helping them achieve a more adaptive level of physical, psychological, and social functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral services to patients under the general supervision of registered nurses and other qualified personnel
  • Observe and assess patients' physical condition, behavior, and responses to treatment, reporting any significant changes to appropriate supervisors and staff members
  • Perform tasks within the scope of your education, knowledge, and permitted by our program's policies and procedures
  • Assist with the coordination of services, including planning, monitoring, documenting, and conducting evaluations of services to patients
  • Utilize behavioral and physical techniques to prevent injury to patients and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Keep hallways and common areas clear of debris and maintain facilities in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Orient new patients to their room, facility, and other essential areas
  • Assist patients with making medical appointments and transportation arrangements
  • Secure passengers' wheelchairs and assist disabled passengers in and out of the vehicle
  • Maintain and update transportation calendars, schedule routes, and travel times to ensure timely arrivals and departures
  • Report problematic client behavior or disruption of service to supervisors
  • Lock and secure vehicles when leaving them unattended and check for passengers before leaving
  • Maintain daily records of mileage and number of passengers transported
  • Clean and service vehicles, reporting any deficiencies for repair and maintenance
  • Ensure the confidentiality of patient information and health records
  • Participate in all staff meetings and trainings
Requirements

We are looking for candidates with knowledge of the alcohol and other drug recovery field and experience working with severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and homeless populations.
