Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Medicine Therapist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will provide Chemical Dependency services and psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and families under indirect supervision.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Answer and triage patient calls for information, treatment services, and general Chemical Dependency advice.
  • Respond to and appropriately handle crisis calls.
  • Perform higher-level assessments, including non-CD, MH diagnoses, danger to self or others, and non-CD crisis evaluations.
  • Develop and present treatment plans to the CDRP/S treatment team for recommendations, revisions, and approval.
  • Participate in clinical case conferences and conduct Chemical Dependency-focused educational lectures.
  • Provide general Chemical Dependency counseling, including individual and group counseling services.
  • Provide Adolescent, Significant Other, Family, and Multi-Family therapy as assigned.
  • Provide case management services, including resource and referral coordination.
  • Mentor functions/clinical direction to CDRP/S Counselors I and II, student interns, licensure candidates, and Alcohol or Drug Certificate candidates.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate relevant supervised addiction medicine therapy experience within the last five (5) years required.
  • Education: Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California).
Additional Requirements

May consider LCSW, with a Masters Degree in Social Work, job code 16565, for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with adolescents preferred.
