The HR Generalist will facilitate the everyday functions of the Human Resources division within a healthcare organization. The main emphasis will be on managing workflows and HRIS, administering employee benefits, overseeing leave management, and ensuring adherence to healthcare standards and labor regulations. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will oversee the HR communication channels, addressing employee inquiries and directing specific issues to the relevant HR personnel. This position necessitates a proactive mindset towards ongoing process enhancements, ensuring the HR operations are both efficient and effective. The HR Generalist will also contribute significantly to HR initiatives, including employee wellness programs, diversity and inclusion strategies, and organizational development efforts. This role requires exceptional organizational capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Workflow and HRIS Oversight:
- Administer and uphold the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Create and generate reports from the HRIS to aid in decision-making and compliance documentation.
- Continuously refine HR processes and workflows to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
- Process payroll adjustments in HRIS and relay summaries to the Finance Department.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, encompassing health insurance, retirement plans, and other optional benefits.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and resolve any benefits-related inquiries or issues.
- Coordinate annual benefits open enrollment and communicate any modifications to employees.
- Educate employees on benefits, support annual benefits renewal meetings, conduct audits, manage employee enrollment in/termination of benefits (health, 401(k), COBRA), and assist employees in resolving benefits questions and disputes.
- Oversee leave programs including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other leave policies.
- Monitor and track leave usage to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations.
- Assist employees with leave requests and ensure timely processing of leave documentation.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and healthcare regulations.
- Maintain accurate and current employee records, including personnel files, HRIS data, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for audits and inspections.
- Oversee the maintenance of employee records in compliance with applicable laws.
- Monitor and manage the HR department's communication channels, ensuring timely responses to employee inquiries and concerns.
- Direct specific inquiries to appropriate HR team members as necessary and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Engage in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support HR initiatives such as employee wellness programs, diversity and inclusion efforts, and organizational development projects.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives within the HR department.
The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- HR Certification is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience.
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Service-oriented approach and mindset.
- May require occasional travel to various facility locations.
