Job Summary:

Junior Achievement of San Diego County is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. The CFO will be responsible for developing and implementing the organization's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  2. Prepare and present financial reports to the President/CEO and Finance Committee.
  3. Manage loans and ensure compliance with governmental and organizational financial reporting requirements.
  4. Coordinate with staff and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  5. Provide financial and budget reports as needed by programmatic and development staff.
  6. Oversee purchasing strategy for program materials and other budgeted expenses.
  7. Manage month-end close and reviews reconciliations and entries from Staff Accountant.
  8. Monitor deferred revenue accounts.
  9. Oversee audit process working with Audit Committee, auditors, and staff to ensure accurate and timely results.
  10. Assist with payroll and 401k with the Chief of Staff.
  11. Manage work direction of Staff Accountant along with the Chief of Staff.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, accounting, or related field. Preferably CPA or MBA. Strong familiarity with accounting/finance software. Strong data analysis skills with ability to make data-driven decisions. The ability to create, analyze, and report financial data to stakeholders. Ability to identify and mitigate risk as well as ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
