Overview:
The Financial Investment Analyst will collaborate closely with the Investment Office team to assist in the oversight of New York University's endowment.
This role involves conducting essential due diligence, research, and analysis on both prospective and current external investment managers to facilitate informed investment decisions.
Contributions will include qualitative and quantitative research at the portfolio, asset class, and manager levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to support investment strategies.
- Assist in the evaluation of external investment managers.
- Prepare detailed performance reports and maintain complex spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance investment decision-making processes.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in investment firms, banks, endowments, foundations, or similar environments.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Strong passion for financial markets and investment strategies.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex functions.
- Ability to produce and manage detailed documentation that supports investment decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High ethical standards and integrity in handling confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Financial modeling expertise and a solid understanding of portfolio theory, capital markets, and alternative investments such as private equity or hedge funds.
Compensation:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $112,500.00 to USD $137,000. New York University considers various factors when extending an offer, including the scope of the position, candidate experience, education, key skills, and market considerations.
This salary range reflects base pay only and does not include additional compensation such as bonuses or incentives.
