Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager R&D to lead technology development-related programs within the Agile Mission Systems (AMS) Group at General Atomics.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of applied physics programs ranging from low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) concepts to high TRL fielded systems. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading programs in areas such as optical communications, RF systems, position navigation and timing (PNT), high-frequency (HF) communications, machine learning, and/or sensor development.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience. You will demonstrate technical expertise in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop program plans, estimates, and schedules and execute programs in accordance with those plans.
  • Represent company at technical reviews and system-level integration activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Liaise with customers, contractors, and engineering groups assigned to projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Progressive engineering experience as follows: nine or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, seven or more years of experience with a master's degree, or four or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.
  • Must have experience developing one or more of the following areas: laser systems, mechanical enclosures, algorithms and signal processing, machine learning.
  • Must have systems engineering experience.
  • Experience in land-based and aircraft payload integration is desirable.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout a fast-paced, R&D environment.
  • Must have strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and/or professionals.
  • Salary: $105,890 - $189,545
