Position Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA 2) is a vital member of the healthcare team at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, located in Portland, Oregon. This role involves providing essential nursing support under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in a dynamic Float Pool environment.
Work Schedule
This position offers a .9 FTE night shift schedule, comprising three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends.
Team Collaboration
As part of the Float Pool Family, you will collaborate with a diverse group of caregivers dedicated to delivering exceptional patient and family-centered care across various hospital units, including:
- Medical A, B, C
- Cardiology A, B
- Surgical, Orthopedics
- Neurovascular, Oncology
- Clinical Decision Unit
With experience, there are opportunities to cross-train in other areas such as Behavioral Health and the Emergency Department.
Orientation and Training
New hires will receive comprehensive orientation tailored to their experience level, including training for floor duties, constant observation roles, and support at the Nursing station.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Completion of an Oregon State Board of Nursing recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or equivalent
- Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire
- Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Experience
One year of experience as a CNA 2 is preferred.
