Nurse Practitioner Dermatology Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Dermatology team at NYU Winthrop. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development and implementation of our clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Comprehensive Patient Care: Conduct thorough health assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide education to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with our attending physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Develop and Implement Clinical Programs: Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical programs, protocols, and guidelines to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
  • Prescribe and Manage Medications: Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with New York State law and hospital policies.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data analysis, to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
  • Stay Current with Clinical Knowledge: Stay current with the latest clinical knowledge, research, and best practices in dermatology and advanced practice nursing.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse License: Current NYS Registered Nurse License required.
  • Current NYS Nurse Practitioner License: Current NYS Nurse Practitioner License required.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner Certification: Current Nurse Practitioner Certification required.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification: Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) preferred.
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience in dermatology and advanced practice nursing strongly preferred.
