Key Responsibilities:- Reviewing Plans and Specifications: Understand project requirements before fieldwork; accurately record observations and testing results related to construction materials.
- Utilizing Field and Laboratory Information Management Systems: Efficiently manage data organization for field and laboratory tools.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain accuracy of field and laboratory tools to meet industry standards.
- Special Inspection Observations: Adhere to International Building Code (IBC) standards for testing and inspecting construction materials.
- Communication with Stakeholders: Engage with management, contractors, and clients to relay project progress and address concerns.
We are seeking an individual with a High School diploma/GED and 0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials. Relevant certifications, such as American Concrete Institute (ACI) or International Code Council (ICC), are a plus.
You should have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language and basic math skills with a understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure. Proficiency in completing data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device, using Microsoft Office and email is also required.
Physical Demands:- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions.
- Walking over rough and uneven terrain.
- Standing up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion.
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment).
- Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sites.
- Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary.
- Working outside of normal business hours when necessary.
