Job Summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials used in various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site testing and inspection of construction materials, including soil, asphalt, and concrete.
  • Utilize nuclear gauges and other equipment to perform tests and collect data.
  • Obtain and deliver samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
  • Interact with clients and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of testing and inspection activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as civil engineering or materials science.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in construction materials testing.
  • ACI Level I certification.
  • Nuclear gauge certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a variety of environments, including construction sites, laboratories, and offices. The ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work at heights, and withstand extreme temperatures is essential.
