Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms for the day
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for medical examinations
  • Record vital signs, including height, weight, and blood pressure, for well visits
  • Document patient information, including chief complaints and reasons for visits
  • Perform vision and hearing screenings as necessary
  • Assist physicians with sick visits, well-child visits, school or camp physicals, and paperwork preparation
  • Clean and restock examination rooms and equipment
  • Administer immunizations, breathing treatments, and lab tests as needed
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Education Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in registered nursing; LPN/RN licensure

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • Active North Carolina LPN/RN license
  • 2 or more years of clinical experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a pediatric clinic
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Covid-19 vaccination required

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
