Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager and with guidance from the Resort Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the effective functioning and upkeep of resort accommodations, communal spaces, and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Upkeep: Execute routine building maintenance, conduct daily inspections, respond to service requests, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and engage in light landscaping tasks.
  • Pool Management: Oversee regular pool maintenance and implement ADA pool lift procedures along with periodic checks.
  • Building Awareness: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of both the interior and exterior of buildings, identify and report maintenance concerns, and address safety issues. Collaborate with the Lead Maintenance Attendant as needed.
  • Emergency Management: React promptly to emergency situations and demonstrate proficiency in emergency protocols.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Provide assistance to other departments with light cleaning, maintenance, housekeeping, marketing, and HR tasks as required.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Address daily maintenance requests, offer support to guests and other departments, generate maintenance reports, and ensure that logs are consistently updated.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor, maintain, and ensure the safe handling, proper usage, and inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and resources. Report any incidents to management as necessary.
  • Guest Engagement: Share information about on-site activities, local attractions, events, and other vacation-related details with owners and guests. Encourage client referrals, timeshare tour opportunities, online satisfaction reviews, and constructive feedback for enhancement.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Carry out related tasks as assigned or as situations arise.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED. Familiarity with general repair tasks and experience with basic hand tools. Pool certification is preferred or must be obtained.
  • Customer Service Proficiency: Strong customer service abilities with the capacity to address common issues and concerns of owners and guests in a professional manner.
  • Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact successfully at all levels.
  • Physical Demands: Capability to stand, climb stairs, talk, hear, walk, use hands for lifting, placing, handling, and feeling; stoop, kneel, and crouch. Frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Items over 25 pounds will be lifted using equipment or with assistance from colleagues.
