Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Registered Nurse to join our team in an Ophthalmology setting. As an RN, you will provide safe and efficient care to patients in our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). Your strong attention to detail and ability to multitask will be essential in our fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Admit patients to the pre-/post-operative area and assess their condition on arrival in surgery.
- Prepare the operating suite for patients, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment.
- Assist Anesthesia Providers and Surgeons during procedures, maintaining a safe environment for patients and personnel.
- Evaluate and treat patients under local anesthesia, maintaining accurate and complete records of their surgical experience.
- Start IVs, administer medications, and prepare drugs and solutions per physician protocols.
- Prepare for and manage immediate postoperative care, including transporting patients to the recovery room and providing patient and family training.
- Assist in the orientation of new team members and cross-training of existing personnel.
- Obtain patient history through interviews and evaluations, noting data in the chart and sharing pertinent information with physicians.
- Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
- Current RN License.
- Bilingual in Spanish & English highly preferred.
- 1-year Ophthalmology experience as a Surgery RN is a plus.
- BLS certification required.
- ASC experience preferred.
- Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
