Job Summary

As a Bilingual Registered Nurse in our Ambulatory Surgical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all patients during the perioperative phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Admit patients to the pre-/post-operative area and assess their condition on arrival in surgery
  • Implement and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, taking into account individual patient needs
  • Prepare the operating suite for patients, including monitoring cleanliness, assembling supplies, and checking equipment for proper functioning
  • Assist Anesthesia Providers and Surgeons during procedures, maintaining constant awareness of the operative situation and a safe environment for patients and personnel
  • Evaluate, observe, and treat patients under local anesthesia
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of patients' surgical experience
  • Start IVs, administer medications, and prepare drugs and solutions per physician protocols
  • Prepare for and manage immediate postoperative care, including transporting patients to the recovery room and providing patient and family training
  • Assist in the orientation of new team members and cross-training of existing personnel
  • Obtain patient history through interviews and evaluations, noting data in the chart and sharing pertinent information with physicians

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; BSN preferred
  • Current RN License
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English highly preferred
  • 1-year Ophthalmology experience as a Surgery RN is a plus
  • BLS certification required
  • ASC experience preferred
  • Detailed-oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • This is a Safety Sensitive position
