Network and Systems Administrator

As a Network and Systems Administrator at DPAC, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and securing our network and computer systems. This involves installing antivirus and malware protection, addressing employee tech concerns, creating helpful documentation, and generating insightful reports. Your role will also involve collaborating with DPAC's IT Manager to explore new technologies that could enhance our systems. We're looking for someone who can proactively identify and resolve issues, set up new users, assist with managing our firewall, configure Cisco and/or HP switches, and ensure our internet connection is secure. If you're enthusiastic about technology and enjoy helping others, you'll be a great fit for this role:

  • Provide support and troubleshooting for employees experiencing technical issues.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions, ensuring new employees have the necessary access.
  • Ensure all systems are running smoothly and securely, performing regular updates and maintenance.
  • Implement and manage security software to protect the company's data and systems from threats.
  • Proactively monitor systems for issues and perform necessary repairs and updates.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

o Ability to maintain a comfortable seated position and perform repetitive motions at a computer for extended periods.

o Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and staff, both verbally and in writing, to ensure understanding and foster collaboration.

Additional Requirements:

  • AA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Work schedule is Monday – Friday day times, 20 hours per week.
  • Reliable transportation to Durham, NC.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Proficiency in managing Active Directory, Office 365, and Windows Server operating systems.
  • In-depth understanding of network and security principles.
  • Utilize knowledge of HP and Cisco Systems to manage and troubleshoot network issues.
