Position Overview

Timmons Group is in search of a Civil Project Manager specializing in Structure and Bridge Design to become a part of our esteemed Structures and Bridge Design Group.

Key Responsibilities for the ideal candidate encompass:

  • Overseeing and directing design initiatives for the Structural Engineering division
  • Engaging in client relations and fostering business development
  • Creating comprehensive work plans, timelines, cost estimates, and financial projections
  • Managing, coordinating, and evaluating the contributions of engineering personnel
  • Providing mentorship to junior engineering staff
  • Executing intricate designs for both new constructions and rehabilitation projects
  • Experience in bridge design and load rating is advantageous
  • Supporting the formulation and execution of marketing strategies

Qualifications for a successful candidate include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • 8-15 years of experience in structural design
  • Possession of a current North Carolina PE license or the capability to obtain it through comity upon hiring
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and NCDOT standards
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as MDX, Virtis, Merlin-Dash, Descus, Bar7, STAAD, etc.
