Indirect Sourcing Manager

HarbisonWalker International is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Sourcing Manager to join our Supply Chain team. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for managing our MRO, capital expenditures, and plant fleet mobile equipment. This role will be based in our corporate office in Moon, PA, with a hybrid work arrangement of two times per week.

About the Role:

The Indirect Sourcing Manager will be responsible for identifying and qualifying suppliers/products for indirect categories, including MRO, CAPEX, facilities services, and facility mobile equipment. Key aspects of sourcing include understanding the global supplier base and internal needs, conducting supplier/product exploration and qualification, strategic sourcing, price negotiation, and contract management. You will also be responsible for supplier relationship management, conducting sourcing events to drive cost reduction opportunities, and identifying and mitigating supply risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing a global category management strategy to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Identifying and qualifying products for indirect categories of spend – MRO, Cap Ex, mobile equipment, facilities services
  • Generating and managing new project and productivity ideas based on strategic analysis and developing new sources of supply to support short-term and long-term business strategy
  • Participating in business planning and performance workshops with key supplier partners to optimize Supplier Relationship Management
  • Leading contract negotiations in conjunction with legal and key strategic suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Generating and managing new project and productivity ideas based on strategic analysis
  • Partnering with global peers to generate global supply strategy and extract maximum value
  • Supporting the HarbisonWalker Business System (HBS) by identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous process improvement as metrics warrant

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer operation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assemble and quickly analyze data
  • Knowledge of E Sourcing, contract writing, and project management
  • Strong supplier negotiation skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and business problem-solving skills
  • Experience in quantitative analytics
  • Strong industry-specific knowledge and the ability to manage supplier relationships
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) Certification preferred
  • Four to six years of professional experience with commodities purchasing, including high-level negotiation experience within manufacturing, writing contracts, and managing categories with a minimum of $50 million annual spend
