In this position, you will oversee the automation of the bringup and integration framework for the PHY/Radio on internal silicon solutions from chip design to deployment in Apple products.
Role Overview
As a key technical contributor, you will focus on the automation development of cutting-edge wireless SoC products. Your responsibilities will include creating the software infrastructure that supports a silicon design group, encompassing the framework for bringup, validation, characterization, regression, and reporting. This will involve designing and implementing a Python-based bringup framework, along with regression and validation tools, and a reporting and analysis engine. As the steward of the silicon performance infrastructure, your contributions will be vital in ensuring that Apple products surpass expectations.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing test and debug infrastructure for the characterization and troubleshooting of real wireless silicon in a laboratory environment.
- Expertise in creating test automation solutions, including equipment drivers, debugging tools, automation scripts, database interfaces, and reporting tools.
- Experience in automating measurements on wireless testing equipment such as signal analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
- Fundamental understanding of existing wireless communication protocols: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, LTE/WCDMA/GSM, or 802.11ad/ay, along with key Tx/Rx metrics like EVM and sensitivity.
Education & Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience is required. A Master's or PhD is preferred.
At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows for growth as you advance within your role. The base pay range for this position is between $170,700 and $300,200, with your specific base pay dependent on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
