Job Overview

A Senior Test Engineer is essential for thoroughly evaluating their team's modules within the software or system to guarantee optimal functionality and alignment with business objectives. This role also includes mentoring and guiding other Test Engineers and Analysts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an Agile software development team to execute all stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • Examine user stories to formulate and implement detailed test cases and automation strategies.
  • Design and oversee both automated and manual testing processes for our applications.
  • Plan and execute effective load, performance, and stress testing initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and deploying an automated UI and API testing framework for DDI applications.
  • Work alongside DevOps teams to establish a continuous integration and deployment testing pipeline.
  • Create and apply metrics for load, performance, and stress testing, and supervise the analysis of the outcomes.
  • Establish standards to ensure thorough application security testing is integrated into the development process.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and functional inquiries related to the software, collaborating with project and product managers as necessary.
  • Ensure that infrastructure modifications are advanced through the development stages with quality assurance and conduct necessary testing to prevent negative impacts on production.
  • Coordinate initiatives across teams, covering multiple teams or projects as required.
  • Stay informed about significant advancements in the software industry, actively pursuing learning opportunities and applying newfound knowledge to the role.
  • Review automation code while mentoring Test Engineers on best engineering practices and coding quality standards.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support to fellow Test Engineers to enhance their skill sets, sharing knowledge generously and addressing successes and concerns with management.
  • Offer formal assessments to Managers regarding the technical strengths and weaknesses of other Test Engineers, taking on a leadership role within projects and teams.
  • Contribute not only to individual priorities but also to DDI Product Development and the organization as a whole, identifying and advocating for new projects while collaborating with various disciplines and departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in various software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, functional, manual, load, and regression testing.
  • Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with automation frameworks for testing web applications, mobile applications, and APIs using Selenium.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and associated testing frameworks such as Protractor.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard CI and testing tools.
  • Experience in security testing is advantageous.
  • Adept at triaging issues, adapting to change, collaborating with teams, and managing multiple products or projects.
  • Expertise in the quality assurance process throughout the entire QA lifecycle.
  • Experience in a Scrum/Agile environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and remote teams.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, capable of understanding complex issues and the business drivers for success.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while delivering results.
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve software application issues.
  • Maintain consistent performance under pressure and in uncertain situations.
  • Enjoy fostering a collaborative environment and taking responsibility for the success of complex projects.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight.
