Role Summary and Qualifications

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will collaborate with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to implement treatment plans designed to meet patient goals as established by the Physical Therapist. You will play a crucial role in the interdependent team, responsible for achieving favorable patient and departmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

You will monitor patients before, during, and after therapy, documenting their status and reporting findings to the Physical Therapist.

You will assist patients in executing various exercises as specified in the treatment plan.

You will educate patients on the use of adaptive equipment.

You will provide education to patients and their families while accurately documenting the therapy process.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.

Must hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the practicing state, in accordance with regulations.

A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross is mandatory.

Previous experience in acute care or inpatient rehabilitation as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.
