At Soho House, a Dining Server plays a vital role in providing an exceptional experience for our members and guests by being knowledgeable about all menu offerings. The Server is tasked with ensuring that any dietary restrictions are communicated effectively while delivering a welcoming and sophisticated service in line with Soho House's standards. This position is essential for the overall success of our service and guest satisfaction. The Server works collaboratively with fellow team members, completing pre-service and post-service responsibilities, accurately inputting orders into the POS system, and remaining attentive to guest needs throughout their dining experience.

A successful Dining Server embodies a positive demeanor, is detail-oriented, process-driven, and adaptable in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture professional relationships with colleagues and management while completing checklists for all trained processes acquired in Club School.
  • Enhance the dining experience for members and guests by offering insightful food and beverage pairing suggestions.
  • Communicate daily specials to promote sales through consistent and friendly interactions, adhering to the highest service standards.
  • Maintain open communication with Management and the Executive Chef regarding any allergies or potential concerns to minimize risks.
  • Complete checkout reports at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy and management approval.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, as well as all company policies and applicable laws.
  • Accommodate special requests from guests or propose alternative solutions that align with business needs.
  • Ensure that food orders are plated and served correctly to members and guests.
  • Assist runners and bussers as needed to support all table orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the server alley and bar area, including polishing silverware and glassware.
  • Continuously educate oneself about the menu to provide informed suggestions to members and guests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments while effectively solving problems under pressure.
  • Exhibit a hospitable, approachable demeanor, demonstrating a passion for customer service and respect for colleagues and guests.
  • Demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to take direction and work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Familiarity with tips certification and POS systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  • Capable of making frequent fast-paced movements across the property.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, or pull at least 20 pounds.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as necessary.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including summer temperatures.
