Job Title: Research Scientist Associate I - Data Analysis

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist Associate I - Data Analysis to join our team at the University of Texas at Arlington. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals who are passionate about advancing knowledge and improving the world.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist with the evaluation, review, selection, adaptation, and modification of standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for public water systems design for the Plan and Technical Review Section of the Water Supply Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the review of requests for exceptions to public water system design standards.
  • Review and evaluate design and performance data and apply regulations.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence to record decisions.
  • Complete/participate in special projects and technical training as assigned by management.
  • Provide assistance to senior staff as requested.
  • Provide general technical assistance to entities.
  • Perform administrative duties.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in data analysis, environmental quality management, environmental science, natural resources, engineering, public utilities, business administration, or related field.
  • Six (6) months of work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or related fields.
Working Conditions:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Job activities include but not limited to sitting, standing, lifting and carrying batches of paper up to 10 lbs. Infrequent travel (i.e., annually) for activities such as job skills training or participating in institutional and client meetings and conferences.
