About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist in Cryptography to join our Applied Mathematics team at Two Six Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will work on cutting-edge research programs related to applied, modern cryptography, and collaborate with clients from the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to innovative tech startups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in research programs to develop and evaluate cryptographic software and systems for functional correctness and implementation mistakes.
  • Assist the formal methods team in evaluating cryptographic software and systems for functional correctness and implementation mistakes.
  • Take on complex technical problems for which there is often no known answer.
  • Forge your own path and execute against challenging technical goals, leveraging your expertise in classical and modern cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in classical and modern cryptographic algorithms and protocols, including zero knowledge proof, secure multiparty computation, standard public key algorithms, symmetric key ciphers and modes, cryptographic hash functions, quantum-resistant cryptography, and fully homomorphic encryption.
  • Basic coding skills in a functional or imperative language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Publication history in cryptography.
  • Familiarity with formal methods / formal verification.
  • Exposure to concepts of functional programming languages (higher order function, monads, type classes, etc.).
Clearance Requirements
  • Top Secret Clearance w/ eligibility for SCI.
