We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for new and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Oversee and lead the preparation of contract documents, reviewing consultants' reports and designs, and contractors' submittals.
- Plan, organize, and oversee multi-disciplinary engineering activities, collaborating with internal divisions and external partners.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, prepare reports on design, construction, maintenance, and operation issues, and develop design guidelines and specifications.
- Participate in long-range facility planning and system improvement projects, preparing electrical cost estimates and participating in project budget estimates.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with 2+ years of design experience and 1+ year of project management experience.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maryland or another state.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with no more than 4 points and the ability to obtain a WSSC Water driver's permit within 90 days of hire or transfer.
- 2+ years of electrical engineering experience with industrial facilities.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
