About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Engineer II to join our Treatment Plant Design Team at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing water treatment facilities that meet the needs of our 19 million customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform process design calculations for chemical feed systems, including ozone, sulfuric acid, caustic soda, polymers, alum, chlorine, ammonia, fluoride, and other chemical systems.
  • Develop mechanical equipment sizing and prepare conceptual study and preliminary design reports and memos.
  • Develop design criteria and standards for water treatment facilities and water conveyance and distribution systems projects.
  • Prepare process flow diagrams, mechanical design drawings, and specifications for water treatment facilities and water conveyance and distribution systems projects.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, and startup.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Two years of relevant experience, with two years at the Assistant Engineer I level.
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
